AWANA Information

AWANA got it's name from 2 Timothy 2:15 and stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. The nonprofit organization was founded in 1950. Today the programs and ministries can be found worldwide. AWANA has developed a special set of programs especially for children, and are centered on the Bible. AWANA provides weekly programs and special events that are designed to introduce children to Jesus Christ and build a strong foundation of faith. Their goal is to help churches and parents worldwide raise children and youth to know, love and serve Christ.

AWANA has several programs created for people of all ages from 2 years old through seniors in high school. This allows them to provide the tools and programs that each child can use as they grow to learn more about Christ.

Here are some statistics that might alarm you:

Over half of all church-going teens abandon their faith after high school.

As few as one in 10 possesses a biblical view of God and the world.

Bible knowledge among college students has plummeted to all-time lows.

However, a recent survey has shown that most children who participated in AWANA during their youth developed a strong spiritual foundation that helped them remain faithful followers of Jesus as adults.
